How to use Resize Image

Resize an image to a target width or height. Leave one field blank to keep the aspect ratio.

  1. Open Resize Image on toolpermarket and fill in the inputs the tool asks for.

  2. In the Image file field, choose the image to rescale. Resizing down is instant and safe; resizing up only stretches pixels.

  3. In the Width field, target width in pixels (leave blank to keep ratio). Set only one of width/height to scale proportionally.

  4. In the Height field, target height in pixels (leave blank to keep ratio). Blank height keeps the original aspect ratio automatically.

  5. Press Resize to compute the result. The output appears immediately below the form. Adjust the inputs and recalculate as many times as you need.

  6. Read the result and use it as needed. If the number looks off, re-check your inputs and run it again — the math is deterministic, so the same entries always return the same answer.

Worked example. Load a 4000×3000 photo, set width to 1200, leave height blank, and download a 1200×900 version that keeps the same proportions.

Tips for accurate results.

  • Leave one dimension blank to avoid distortion.

  • Resizing down is sharp; resizing up looks soft.

  • Smaller dimensions also shrink the file size.

When to use Resize Image. Fitting an image to a layout or template. Making thumbnails from large originals. Reducing dimensions to speed up a page.

When you actually reach for this

  • You need an image at specific dimensions for a template, ad, or upload field.
  • A thumbnail or header slot calls for exact width and height.

Where this tool stops being accurate

  • Making an image larger (upscaling) adds no real detail, only bigger pixels, so it looks soft.
  • Unlock aspect ratio only when you truly want distortion; keeping it locked avoids stretched faces and text.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing distort my image?

Only if you force both width and height to a different shape. Leave one field blank and the tool keeps the original aspect ratio, so the picture is simply scaled, not stretched.

Is my image uploaded to resize it?

No. The image is loaded into your browser, redrawn at the new size on a canvas, and exported locally — it never touches a server.

Can I make a small image larger?

You can set bigger dimensions, but the tool only stretches existing pixels, so the result looks softer than the original. Resizing is best used to make images smaller.

Why does my upscaled photo look blurry?

Enlarging interpolates between existing pixels; it cannot recreate detail that was never there. Start from the largest original you have.
