How to use Round Image Corners

Free rounded-corner tool: cut a photo to a radius you choose and export the soft-cornered image.

  1. Open Round Image Corners on toolpermarket — the form is ready, so type your numbers and read the result.

  2. In the Image field, pick a picture to clip. Square or rectangular images clip most predictably.

  3. In the Radius field, choose how rounded the corners are. A large radius on a small image approaches a circle or pill.

  4. Press Round corners to compute the result. The output appears immediately below the form. Edit a value and press the button once more to see the updated answer.

  5. Read the result and use it as needed. If the number looks off, re-check your inputs and run it again — the math is deterministic, so the same entries always return the same answer.

Worked example. A 40px radius on an avatar-style square gives soft, friendly corners.

Tips for accurate results.

  • Big radii on tiny images can pinch the center.

  • Use modest values for photo thumbnails.

  • Download as PNG to keep the transparent corners.

When to use Round Image Corners. Softening avatars and profile pictures. Matching a rounded UI style across images. Making icons feel less boxy.

When you actually reach for this

  • You want avatar- or card-style rounded corners on a square image.
  • A UI calls for soft corners instead of hard rectangles.

Where this tool stops being accurate

  • Cut corners become transparent in PNG or a fill color in JPG; JPG corners turn white (or your fill).
  • A radius bigger than half the shortest side yields a full circle or oval.

Frequently asked questions

Are the rounded corners applied without uploading?

Correct. The image is drawn onto a local canvas, a rounded rectangle path is used to clip it, and the result is downloaded from that canvas. Your file is never transmitted, and the transparency outside the rounded shape is preserved in the PNG output.

Why does the result have transparent corners?

Because the clip removes everything outside the rounded rectangle, the area beyond the curve becomes transparent. Saving as PNG keeps that transparency; if you export to a format without alpha, the corners will instead fill with whatever background the converter uses.

Can I make a perfect circle?

Set the radius to at least half the shorter side of a square image and you get a full circle. The slider clamps safely, so pushing it high on a square simply yields the roundest possible shape without distorting the picture.

Why are my corners white after rounding?

JPG cannot store transparency, so the cut-away corners fill with white. Export as PNG if you need them see-through.
